| Photo album Boards Instructions Windsurfing Windsurfing, unlike regular Surfing, is not dependent on a deep onshore wind or particular bottom shape, to cause great waves and rollers in order to get a ride. With windsurfing it is more about the wind, any wind and some wave action and of course your ability to harness these.
What's involved:
So now you know about boards how do you actually do it? There are several ways. There are those of us who will struggle through it with no instruction whatsoever and that is OK if you are a person who is already active and has some experience in a related sports such as surfing and sailing. (This is closer to to cat sailing (Hobie-cat) than yacht sailing). Some outfitters offer windsurfing camps (HST ) where you will attend instructional classes and then receive hands on experience under the watchful eye of the instructors. These are usually offered for different skill levels. On the other hand if you are taking up water sports for the first time and are not attending a camp, you can and should receive some personal instruction ( often available where you buy your board -Ask) or at least get a tape or DVD. Below is a list of some of the more common ones. We also have a beginning instructional page that will help you actually get on your new board and get going.
We want to see this activity section developed and would appreciate any input you may have, This is your site and any input will help others to find what they are looking for. If you have a story you would like to submit or photos, we would be glad to have you send it in. If you would like, we would be willing to credit you as the source of the articles or we would be glad to keep your name private. Think about it, a chance to have your story published or share your photos. Use our simple submission form and thank you for choosing to visit our site, stay awhile and visit some of the activities that we have had the opportunity to develop. The more you get to do a sport the more you will enjoy it. We have found that being prepared to leave at a moment notice will increase the number of time that you will actually get out and do it. Ultimately the best way to be prepared is to have all the necessary gear already stored in a "gear trailer". This is a trailer dedicated to this purpose. READ ON. See all the Activities we currently feature and see what is yet to come. Being physically fit will make your experiences safer and more enjoyable. We are developing a page devoted to encouraging people to do just this. See the Physical fitness page.
