Hurricane Wilma or Wild Wilma
This was the projected path of the hurricane force winds and boy were they accurate. This was the first time in 39 years (not since "Donna" in 1961")  that Naples Florida received a direct hit from a hurricane. As you may well know that this is where our headquarters are located. We were forced offline by the storm while we prepared for and later cleaned up and repaired. See our "Surviving a Hurricane" page.

Apparently this is what is most important. Beer, more beer, and your lady. In the aftermath of Katrina we had a chance to see what is most important to many of the people affected by the storm. For some of the looters it was TVs with no place or electric to watch them, but this fellow has a whole different set of values - his lady, his beer, and something with flotation to keep them out of the water.

Compared to the guy standing beside the truck it look like this big boy could eat a couple of us humans.

Anousheh Ansari - Business woman
The first female space tourist

She made a successful docking with the space station, Spent nearly 10 days in Outer Space and is now making blog entries  to fill us in on her x-prize website. Read more by following the links on her page.

Though or site is dedicated to doing the things that normally make one happy we find that we must pay tribute to great losses. Those that were victims of 9/11 and Steve Irwin the Crocodile bloke, seem to be on everyone's mind.

Clicking the image for photo slide show will open a new page and some browsers may want to treat it as a pop up when it is not. To best enjoy this website instruct your system to allow popup from this site as out of the thousands of file we offer here only one (under the news heading) is an actual popup.

Steve Irwin (BIO) will be sorely missed by those of us that admired the work he did in educating us about the marvels of nature, but not any more than those that were closest to him such as his wife Terri (a native of Eugene Oregon) and his Father Bob Irwin who saw Steve as more than a son but also a best friend. (In Aussie Speak - "mate")

Hurricane season  2006 was uncommonly tame. For those of you who are in the hurricane zones you may want to download our free Hurricane Map     and track the storms so that you can be prepared.
As part of our survival teaching you will want to read
Surviving a Hurricane
