Things to see and
do in the town of Jasper

A favorite photo opportunity in
down at the train station in front of the huge totem pole.
Watch for for wildlife
(deer, Elk etc) on the streets of downtown Jasper.
Jasper has many opportunities to
shop in stores constructed of native stone and timbers that reflect the mountain
life. This is a great way to get mementos and souvenirs. Mail off postcards and
stock up on sunscreen.
Go out to dine in some of it
finest restaurants, or catch a quick meal and get on with the sightseeing. It'
your choice. Or if you are staying in a log cabin with a kitchen such as Tekarra
Lodge (our personal favorite or as they say in Canada "favourite")
or staying in one of the campsite on the edge of town, then pick up some
groceries, fix them and then eat outside with the evening light on the Rockies
for you candles. To make camping reservations in any of the Official
Parks Canada campgrounds please click
here and select your language preference (remember Canada is
bilingual)
Visit the Jasper Fire hall where the
Jasper Artists guild and Jasper Museum have exhibits in the summer months.
You probably came to relax and the
water at the Jasper
Aquatic Centre will help you do just that. A great way to cool
off on a summers day.
Enjoy the quiet and solitude of
the Jasper
Municipal Library while research the history of the area or enjoy
a good novel.
No resort area would be
complete without a spa, and no vacation itinerary is complete without a treatment at
one of Jasper's day spas like the Ashton's
Massage Studio or European
Beauty and Wellness Centre.
Visit Jasper's past at the Yellowhead
Museum and Archives. Many good stories about the local lore.
See many of Jasper's wildlife species in
the Wildlife Den
Soak in the Miette
Hot Springs, the hottest in the Canadian Rockies. While not right in
town it's worth the drive.
Take in a feature film at Jasper's home
of fine entertainment, the Chaba
Theatre.
We haven't forgotten
about the Kids
Itineraries
for Kids
See many of Jasper's wildlife species
in the Wildlife Den
Visit the local skateboard
park located beside the tennis courts at the Jasper Activity Centre.
Visit the local playground at the Ball
Diamonds. (Corner of Turret and Maligne Ave)
Take in a feature film at Jasper's
home of fine entertainment, the Chaba
Theatre.
Get wet in the Jasper
Aquatic
Centre. Large pool with boards and platforms of various heights.
Kids are always active
and there is no better place than the Jasper Activity
Centre to occupy them.
